YouTube’s spokesperson said that the company made “the wrong call,” and there were no changed made to their policies related to cryptocurrency videos. “With the massive volume of videos on our site, sometimes we make the wrong call. When it’s brought to our attention that a video has been removed mistakenly, we act quickly to reinstate it. We also offer uploaders the ability to appeal removals and we will re-review the content,” the spokesperson said.

Elvira Nabiullina, Russia’s central bank head, said that the bank doesn’t assume that those stablecoins will function as a means of payment or become a substitute for money, but the Bank of Russia is exploring the potential uses of stablecoins — cryptocurrencies that are pegged to another asset to prevent the volatility associated with crypto markets.

Experts at Kaspersky found that the number of Web-miner infections were down 59% compared to last year, from 5,638,828 infected machines to 2,259,038. However, the number of “unique malicious objects” rose by 13.7 percent – led in part by a 187 percent increase in so-called web-skimmer files.
