In his first letter to Amazon shareholders, CEO Andy Jassy said the international online retail platform could potentially start selling NFT in the future.
Jassy stressed that he does not own bitcoins or NFT and believes that Amazon will not begin integrating cryptocurrencies as a means of payment anytime soon. However, he noted that digital assets will become more significant in the future.
In July 2021, Amazon opened a position for a lead digital currency and blockchain specialist to help develop the company’s Web3 strategy.
