The head of Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Ministry, Mikhail Fedorov, said he spoke with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao about possible areas of cooperation.
Fedorov said that Binance would support the ministry’s educational projects, particularly on crypto literacy, so that even more Ukrainians would gain digital skills and gain new digital professions.
Binance has already provided $10 million in support to Ukraine and said it plans to increase that amount to $20 million in the near future.
During April, Binance will also launch a charitable cryptocurrency card for all Ukrainians forced to leave Ukraine and in need of assistance.
Zhao confirmed that Binance is strictly enforcing the sanctions policy against Russian officials and banks on the sanctions list involved in the military aggression in Ukraine, and will also respond 24/7 to specific cases where the sanctions regime may be violated.
Fedorov also said that the ministry and the exchange are working on the implementation of crypto-legislation and the integration of the Ukrainian portal of public services “Dia” to identify users.
