Canada’s Web3-Council seeks to champion Canada’s national strategy for cryptocurrency and digital assets.
“There is an urgent need to ensure that Canada and its citizens are well positioned to benefit from this new asset class. The Canadian Web3-Council calls on all levels of government to develop a coordinated approach to bring industry representatives and experts together to create a robust, fair and sustainable national strategy for cryptocurrency and digital assets,” the organization said in a statement.
The Council’s first members are: Aquanow, Axiom Zen, Chainsafe Systems, Dapper Labs, Ether Capital, ETHGlobal, Figment, Cosmos Informal Systems, Ledn, Wealthsimple and WonderFi Technologies. The list of participating companies will continue to grow.
“The Canadian crypto ecosystem is ready for domestic Canadian companies to thrive and position themselves as world leaders. Industry participants, government and regulators must work together to create a framework for responsible innovation to help Canadian businesses and investors succeed,” said Ether Capital CEO Brian Mosoff.
