It is reported, that the energy regulator of the Canadian province of Quebec, Régie de l’énergie, has introduced new regulations for cryptocurrency miners. According to the new regulations, power producer Hydro-Quebec will allocate additional 300 MW to the 158 MW already provided to existing customers approved by Hydro-Quebec, and to the 210 MW provided to existing customers approved by municipal distributors. As reported, the companies will have to pass a selection process, if they are aiming to receive the specially allocated power.
