Circle, which is the issuer of the UDC Coin Stablecoin (USDC) announced the successful completion of a $400 million funding round. Circle also announced a new partnership with U.S. investment firm BlackRock.
The company has raised funds from BlackRock, Fidelity Management and Research, Marshall Wace and Fin Capital. The investment round is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022.
In addition to providing strategic investment and asset management of USDC’s cash reserves, BlackRock has signed a broader strategic partnership with Circle. The partnership includes exploring USDC’s capital market applications.
