Sam Bankman-Fried’s U.S. branch of cryptocurrency exchange FTX is launching a new gaming business. According to two job openings posted by FTX US, the new FTX Gaming division is designed to help game studios integrate blockchain technology and NFT into game projects.
FTX US is now hiring software engineers with knowledge of the C# programming language and experience with the Unity game engine.
A spokesperson for the exchange told Bloomberg that FTX Gaming will provide interested companies with a “crypto-as-a-service” platform through which game publishers can launch their own tokens and offer NFT support.
Earlier, FTX US President Brett Harrison said gaming will be an important part of the exchange’s strategic plans for 2022.
In November, FTX launched a $100 million blockchain games fund with Solana Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
