Three former executives of the largest international bank, Citi, have created a cryptocurrency-focused investment company, Motus Capital Management.
Motus Capital Management is headed by Alex Kriete, Greg Girasole and Frank Cavallo. Kriete and Girasole were previously co-heads of Citi Bank’s digital assets group, and Cavallo was a director and investment adviser overseeing about $8 billion in bank assets.
“To combine our goal of creating the solutions our clients asked for with our expertise in the crypto space, we left traditional finance to create Motus,” the company said.
The company plans to raise $100 million.
The investment company will focus on investing in tokens with smaller market capitalizations that are more difficult for larger funds to invest in.
“With assets like Bitcoin and ETH, clients can do it themselves. They don’t have to pay someone to buy bitcoin,” Cavallo said.
