According to CNBC, Google has begun assembling a web3 team that will create services for developers working with blockchain applications.
In an email sent to employees Friday, Google Cloud Vice President Amit Zaveri said that while Web3 is still in its early stages, the market “is already showing tremendous potential, and many customers are asking for increased support for Web3 and cryptocurrency-related technologies.”
The company hopes to become a leader for blockchain developers.
Zaveri said Google will support developers who want to build Web3-based software by offering server services.
The team will report to Google’s cloud computing division.
