HSBC acquires British unit of Silicon Valley Bank for one pound

HSBC Holdings announced that its subsidiary HSBC UK Bank has acquired the UK division of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB UK) for £1.
As of March 10, 2023, SVB UK held a loan portfolio of about £5.5 billion and deposits of about £6.7 billion.
