Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that beta testers from the U.S. will be able to display their own NFTs in their feeds, stories and posts.
The tokens themselves will be displayed in the same way as profiles and tagged items. When you click on a tag, the social network will load information from the blockchain about the name of the owner and author of the NFT.
In order to use the service, you need to connect your Instagram account to a digital wallet.
Instagram will support wallets from MetaMask, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, Coinbase, Dapper and Phantom.
Meta said NFTs on Ethereum and Polygon blockchains will be supported first, and Solana and Flow will be integrated soon.
Users will also be able to use NFT with Augmented Reality via SparkAR.
A similar feature will appear later on Facebook.
