One of Ethereum’s main public test networks, Ropsten, will switch to the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism as early as June. Today, Ethereum Foundation developer Paritosh Jayanti published a request to add relevant parameters to the Ropsten configuration.
“The Ropsten merge is a critical step in testing on the road to the Ethereum core network merge that will take place this year,” said developer Preston Van Loon.
Ropsten’s transition to the new mechanism will take place in two phases on May 30 and June 8.
