The IOTA Foundation has partnered with technology company Dell Technologies to develop a real-time carbon footprint tracking solution.
Dell Technologies announced that it has engaged IOTA, ClimateCHECK and BioE to develop a solution based on Dell’s internal initiatives: the Data Confidence Fabric (DCF) and Project Alvarium.
IOTA has been an active participant in Project Alvarium, a concept first developed by Dell Technologies in 2019 to leverage validated data from the DFC in heterogeneous systems.
Matthew Yarger, head of sustainability at the IOTA Foundation, explained that the four companies have worked together to develop an integrated digital measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) tool.
Combined with Project Alvarium, the digital MRV can collect data from sensors and manually input and process it through Dell PowerEdge servers to ultimately provide near real-time information about BioE’s enterprise carbon footprint.
