One of Japan’s largest online retailers, Mercari, plans to start accepting payments in bitcoin.

The service is expected to be implemented in June.

Payments will go through a subsidiary cryptocurrency company, Melcoin, and will be converted to yen.
Mercari launched its own bitcoin exchange in March 2023.
