The Oman Capital Market Authority (OCMA) plans to include real estate tokenization in the regulatory framework for virtual assets. Oman expects to complete the regulatory framework for virtual assets by the third quarter of 2022.
“The regulatory framework for virtual assets and virtual asset service providers will allow virtual assets such as real estate tokens to be issued for the first time,” said Oman Financial Advisor Kemal Rizadi.
The adviser suggested that real estate tokenization would “open up investment opportunities in the real estate sector for local and foreign investors.”
Rizadi also said regulators are working with experts to help Oman develop a regulatory framework that meets international standards.
