One of bitcoin’s first major developers, Luke Daschr, said that he had “virtually” all of his BTC stolen as a result of a hack.
According to him, unknown persons somehow gained access to his PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) key, a common security method that uses two keys to gain access to encrypted information.
In the track, he shared the address of the wallet where some of the stolen BTC was sent. According to the onchain data, he had over 216 coins missing.
Dashjr noted that he has no idea how the attackers gained access to his key. However, some users recalled that in November he wrote that his server had been compromised by “new malware.”
The incident also drew the attention of Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, who suggested that the developer contact the company’s security team.
