Portugal’s parliament voted against the taxation of crypto-assets.
The proposals came from the leftist parties Bloco de Esquerda and Livre. Both proposals were rejected during the vote on the 2022 budget.
In May of this year, Portugal’s finance minister announced his intention to start taxing crypto-assets. He also noted that the government will work on the regulatory framework, but did not provide information on any timeline.
