Singer Madonna and digital artist Beeple are working on an NFT project called “Mother of Creation,” which showcases three different aspects of life inspired by motherhood.
Madonna said work on the collection has been underway for a year.
The collection will feature three videos of Madonna in the process of giving birth.
“The beginning of each video is basically my labor. I’m doing what women have been doing since time immemorial. But on a more existential level, I give birth to art and creativity, without them we would be lost,” the singer said.
According to the project website, proceeds from the sale of NFT will be donated to three charities – The Voices of Children Foundation, The City of Joy and Black Mama’s Bail Out.
The auction will be held May 11 at SuperRare.
As part of the NFT launch, cryptocurrency platform MoonPay will also donate $100,000 to each of the organizations listed above.
