According to the announcement, the major real estate company in the UAE , Emaar, is planning on launching a token and is also considering holding an ICO in Europe. It is reported, that token development will be made by Swiss blockchain startup Lykke, and will allow Emaar’s customers and stakeholders to access the referral and loyalty system throughout the company.

It is reported, that in Sharjah, UAE will be launched a blockchain-enabled waste permit portal. The recycling and waste management company Bee’ah together with the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) will be working on the development of this blockchain-based waste permit portal. According to the report, it will be the 1st platform in Sharjah that will use blockchain technology for process validation and transactions storage. The platform will be created to cut costs for customers who apply for permits within HFZA and cut permit-issuing time, which is now taking a few days, to only a few hours.

It is reported, that South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb is planning to open a new platform in the UAE. According to the report, to develop UAE-based platform Bithumb will collaborate with Abu Dhabi-based firm Nvelop. The platform will be aimed for Bithumb to expand into the other Middle East countries. As reported, the Nvelop is the joint project of Abu Dhabi-based E11 Investment Fund and Taiwanese venture capital outfit Trill Ventures Group and it was made for funding and developing blockchain initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa.
