Yuga Labs will no longer be able to release new NFTs for the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
“The contract holder has been destroyed,” co-founder and developer of Yuga Labs, known as EmperorTomatoKetchup, wrote on Twitter.
The developers also provided a link to the transaction with which the burn was performed.
On June 2, 2021, NonFungibles CEO Dan Kelly pointed out that Yuga Labs could issue an unlimited number of NFTs beyond the available 10,000 tokens.
The developers then assured that they would never use the feature and promised to revoke access to it within days. However, the promise has only been fulfilled now.
