Bored Ape Yacht Club’s Instagram and Discord accounts have been hacked. The exploit resulted in the theft of $13.7 million.
“There is no minting going on today. It looks like BAYC Instagram has been hacked. Don’t check anything, don’t click any links or link your wallet to anything,” the project’s official Twitter account wrote.
Fraudsters forwarded users a link that offered to buy a plot in the Otherside meta-universe, which is set to launch later this week.
The wallets of those who followed the link were hacked, and as a result, the attackers were able to withdraw 24 NFT from the Bored Ape collection and 30 from the Mutant Ape collection.
