The number of Ethereum (ETH) on cryptocurrencies fell to its lowest level since September 2018.
According to Glassnode, nearly 550,000,000 ETH worth about $1.61 billion have been withdrawn from centralized trading platforms since the beginning of the year.
Massive asset outflows have reduced the exchanges’ net balance in ETH to 21.72 million, a figure of 31.68 million ETH in June 2020.
More than 30% of all ETH withdrawals from exchanges in 2022 occurred earlier this week. Specifically, more than 180,000 ETH left crypto trading platforms on March 15, resulting in a weekly outflow of just over $500 million as of March 18.
