The head of the Bank of England’s fintech department, Varun Paul, said he has resigned from his position to join cryptocurrency company Fireblocks. Paul worked at the central bank of England for almost 14 years.
The former official will reportedly join Fireblocks’ corporate strategy team.
“Sixteen years after I began my first internship and more than 13 years after I became a graduate – I have parted ways with the Bank of England,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
Institutional-oriented infrastructure company Fireblocks serves more than 500 institutions. Its customers include Binance, BitMEX, Huobi, Kraken and other major industry players.
