The supply of bitcoins, held for more than six months, has reached a record high, according to Glassnode. The metric indicates that the majority of investors (76.5%) who bought the cryptocurrency more than six months ago prefer to hold it rather than sell it in an already volatile market.
As the presented indicators show, the market is currently experiencing a wave-like increase in stocks ranging from 6 months to 10 years. This figure can be considered a fundamental change in the behavior of crypto investors using bitcoin as a long-term investment.
The increase in bitcoin reserves was seen after the reversal from the record high of $68,000. The metric may also indicate that there was more buying power in the market as bitcoin tested a new ATH.
Previously, the CEO of Three Arrows Capital noted that the market has seen a change in bitcoin holder behavior from 2018. Most crypto investors are now more patient and prefer long-term investments over speculative trading.
