Last week, Nasdaq and Cboe filed applications to launch options on new spot bitcoin products.

Options – allow the holder to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price at a predetermined time.
The SEC has already accepted the filings and begun the consultation period.

Bloomberg analyst James Seyffarth said approval of options trading could come as early as the end of February and as late as September 21.
