Strike’s payment app has integrated with global e-commerce company Shopify. This allows merchants to accept bitcoin payments through the Bitcoin Lightning network. This was announced by Strike CEO Jack Mullers at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami.
The move could allow nearly two million Shopify merchants worldwide to accept payments in bitcoin.
“Any online seller using Shopify can accept payments without using the 1949 boomer network, receive them instantly, in cash, with no middlemen and no 3% commission,” said Mullers.
Shopify is the 18th largest e-commerce company in the world with annual revenues of about $4.6 billion. The service allows merchants to set up online stores in 175 different countries.
