The Bahamian government has released a white paper outlining a national strategy for digital assets through 2026.

This year, the government will begin allowing Bahamians to pay taxes with digital assets.

Regulators will also begin allowing citizens access to digital assets using Bahamas central bank Sand Dollar’s digital currency.

“We have a vision to make The Bahamas the leading center for digital assets in the Caribbean,” said Prime Minister Philip Davis.
The document will be officially unveiled a week before the Crypto Bahamas conference, which will be hosted by cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
FTX moved its headquarters to the Bahamas in September 2021.
