Cryptocurrency exchange Binance received permission to operate in Italy as a provider of virtual asset services. The permit was issued by the country’s regulatory body Organismo Agenti e Mediatori (OAM).
“Clear and effective regulation is necessary for the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. We thank the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the OAM for their efforts in defining and controlling the necessary requirements to operate in Italy with full transparency,” said Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao.
The company can now officially offer crypto services in Italy.
