The Ethereum Request for Comment 20 (ERC20) is a technical standard used to build smart contracts on Ethereum Blockchain, and there are already tens of thousands ERC20 tokens in circulation. With this update, Coinbase will eventually add support of ERC20 assets in all Coinbase services and products. This will also allow a safe recovery of ERC20 assets sent to Coinbase Ethereum addresses by mistake. It has not been confirmed yet, but some sources suggest that support will start in the forthcoming weeks.
