The French website The Big Whale published an interview with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Macron told interviewers of an encouraging regulatory future in which a unified European financial sector will take a pragmatic approach that inspires confidence but also encourages innovation.
“France will pay close attention to ensuring that the text does not discourage innovation and remains as technology neutral as possible. What is happening should also lead us to move much faster with regard to the digital euro. I want Europe to be a central player, unlike what has happened so far. I want European players to master the technology building blocks related to web3 and the meta universe, so they don’t have to depend on American or Chinese giants,” he said.
Macron also added that European cultural institutions should develop NFT regulatory policies.
