According to the official announcement, starting February 14, 2022, Scott Bogess will coordinate Coinbase’s regulatory engagement strategy.
Bogess added that in this position he will work with regulators to create a better global legal regime for digital assets.
Prior to joining Coinbase, he spent more than 10 years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as deputy director and deputy chief economist.
In addition, he was the Acting Director of the SEC’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA). He is also director of financial markets regulation at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.

Bogess himself added that he is recruiting for his “political” team. According to the official list of open positions, Coinbase is also on the lookout for an international policy director in India.
