Russia’s Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov announced the need to include digital currencies in the criminal law in order to investigate cases of their theft and the possibility of their seizure.
“The dynamics of committing crimes using virtual assets is increasing. Therefore, in my opinion, it is necessary to include them in the criminal and criminal procedural legislation in terms of the possibility of recognizing them as the subject of encroachment and imposing restrictive measures on digital currencies,” Krasnov said.
Krasnov explained that cryptocurrencies in illegal circulation will not only be recognized as the subject of a crime, but can also be confiscated in a legal order.
