At the ISSCC 2022 conference, Intel Corporation unveiled its new mining chip, which will be paired with a 3,600-watt high-performance miner.
According to the company, the Bonanza Mine is an ultra-low-voltage, energy-efficient ASIC for bitcoin mining that can deliver 40 terahashes per second (40 TH/s).
Bonanza Mine can combine 300 chips in a single system.
The maximum throughput of Bonanza Mine using SHA-256 algorithm is 137 Ghash/s, which makes the novelty by Intel one of the most energy-efficient solutions for mining.
The first owners of Bonanza Mine will be the mining companies Argo Blockchain and GRIID Infrastructure, as well as Jack Dorsey’s BLOCK (formerly Square).
