Ripple chief cryptographer David Schwartz claims that banks cannot implement such technology on a global scale due to the low scalability and privacy problems. Ripple believes that their xCurrent’s immutable “interledger” protocol is more superior than traditional payment networks. The company launched a project that offers banks “classic” blockchain-powered payments, but banks have rejected the initiative, citing that one cannot just put “the whole world on a blockchain.”
