According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), cryptocurrency exchange Binance co-invested in the $44 billion purchase of Twitter, which was initiated by Elon Musk.
According to the documents, Binance is one of 18 co-investors along with major players in the crypto industry such as Sequoia Capital Fund and Fidelity Management and Research Company.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao wrote on Twitter that this investment is “a small contribution to the cause.”
Each registered equity investor mentioned in the document pledged to make a contribution immediately prior to the closing of the acquisition.
