One of the world’s largest venture capital firms, Sequoia Capital, has launched a new crypto fund. It is the company’s first industry fund since its founding in 1972.
The Sequoia Crypto Fund will primarily invest in “liquid tokens” – tokens that are already listed on crypto exchanges as well as those that have not yet been placed on trading floors. This was announced by Sequoia Capital partner Sean Maguire.
The size of the fund is $500-$600 million.
Sequoia will also continue to invest in crypto startups from its main venture capital funds, which are valued at $7.5 billion.
