Despite the initial statement of non-involvement, VISA and Worldpay have now admitted that they had a system failure following the change of MCC code for cryptocurrency trading operations, as a result, all VISA holder users had multiple write-offs for the same amounts when buying the cryptocurrency. VISA had to issue an official apology to Coinbase and its users.
