The social network VKontakte announced the launch of a marketplace for NFT-tokens.
“In general, we’re moving towards meta universes, but we see them a little differently. We started with NFT, with copyright content protection, with monetization of copyright content, and we believe that now is the time of NFT, and VKontakte should become the main service – a provider with access to NFT in Russia and the CIS countries. We would like to be some kind of marketplace, which will allow to choose between different blockchains,” said VKontakte technical director Alexander Tobol.
According to Tobol, the social network is now developing systems to protect the content of users.
“Example scenario: you’re cool at drawing stickers. You draw cool stickers for the soccer team, the soccer team buys the stickers from you, and you get some sort of payment from selling them to the soccer team’s fans. 10% – yours, 40% – ours, 50% – the soccer team. Stickers are unique, there can be a limited number of stickers, a maximum of 1 thousand,” he added.
